I have been involved with Wyburns since 1990, when my first child began in Reception and in 1993 was elected as a Parent Governor. My local authority and private sector company secretarial experience has enabled me to support the Governing Body in meeting its full range of responsibilities; whilst contributing my own ideas and values to assist in developing the school’s strategy, overseeing its implementation, and ensuring that goals are achieved, all within a framework of sound governance arrangements. I am fully committed to ensuring that all pupils make the progress of which they are capable, whilst the caring and supportive ethos experienced by my own children thrives.
Hello, my name is Joyce Giles. I joined Wyburns as the LA appointed governor over 20 years ago! I am very proud to still serve on the hard-working governing body of a school which has such a family ethos about it - thus our children receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for life beyond primary school.
Welcome to Wyburns Primary School! I am delighted to have been Head Teacher of this brilliant school since January 2013. I have worked in Essex and Thurrock schools for several years as both a teacher and a school leader. The governing body of Wyburns is a strong team and I am pleased to work alongside the members in delivering our strategic vision for the school. We work hard to drive forward improvement that makes real differences to the lives of our pupils and their families.
Hello. My name is Jill Pickering and I had the privilege of teaching at Wyburns for 25 years. My two daughters also went to Wyburns and it has always held a special place in my affection. I hope, as a governor, to use my extensive experience of education to support and encourage the school to continue to prosper and move forward.
Hello my name is Jeanette and I became a parent governor in March 2015. Both my children have attended Wyburns: one in Class 4 and one now in Year 7. I am proud to say that Wyburns gets better every year. I am looking forward to acting as a parent governor and being part of this community.
Hello, my name is Graham Pritchard and I became a parent governor at Wyburns in 2015. I am a teacher and lead the humanities faculty in a local secondary school. My eldest daughter is in Year 3 and loves being in the school. As a parent governor, I hope to use my skills and passion for education to support Wyburns in its ongoing journey forward.
Hello my name is Dawn Webb and I am a parent governor. I have 2 children and enjoy a busy family and work life. Wyburns school has always been close to my heart; I attended Wyburns as a child, along with my 3 siblings, and we all have fond memories of our school days. My daughter now attends Wyburns and my son is due to start in September. I believe Wyburns improves every year - the teaching and support staff are nurturing and enthusiastic. I am really excited about being part of the governing body moving forward.
Hello, my name is Hina and I became a co-opted governor in March 2015. I have been a secondary school teacher for the past 16 years, now working part time as I have two children aged 6 and 2. My subject specialism is Geography, which I am extremely passionate about. I also have responsibilities for Internationalism and Rights Respecting Schools. I hope to make a positive contribution to Wyburns using the areas I have expertise in and am very excited to be part of a wonderful "brilliant" community!
Hello! I am very proud to be the Deputy Head of Wyburns and I am the staff representative on the governing body. I have been a member of this wonderful school community since September 2012. Before joining the Wyburns team, I held a few other teaching positions around Essex and even completed a brief stint working as a Maths Consultant for the local authority. I am passionate about making Wyburns the best that it can be and look forward to continuing to contribute to achieving this as a member of both the staff and governor teams.
Miss J Campbell - Assistant Headteacher
Hello! I am currently in my fourth year of teaching and am now beginning my new role as Assistant Head teacher. I am very much looking forward to being the staff representative of the governing body and I thoroughly enjoy being part of the Wyburns community. My subject specialisms are RE and PSHE and I hope to continue to strive for the best in these areas - as well as all other areas of school life.
