Tesco Bags of Help - Sensory Garden Project

Jan 2017 - Yippee! We are very excited to learn that we have been awarded a sum of £8,000 to develop the area around the pond into a sensory garden. We eagerly await some better weather so that we can start the project. We aim to create a space which ignites the senses and inspires learning.

Voting is over and we eagerly await the results! We cant wait to get started with this exciting project. Fingers crossed!!

We only have a few days left to vote for our sensory garden project at Tesco. See below for a list of local Tesco stores where voting is taking place. Upon purchasing a 5p carrier bag you should be given a token to vote for our project. Our school is guaranteed to win one of three amounts of money, with the most popular project winning the biggest pot of money! Help us to make our creative/sensory garden the best that it can be! Thank you for your support.

Tesco has teamed up with Groundwork on its Bags of Help initiative in hundreds of regions across England and Wales. The scheme will see three community groups and projects in each of these regions awarded grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag charge.

Bags of Help offers community groups and projects in each of Tesco’s 416 regions across the UK a share of revenue generated from the 5p charge levied on single-use carrier bags. The public will now vote in store from 31st October to 9 November on who should receive the £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 awards. In total, there is over £12.5 million up for grabs.
