Autumn 1 - Week 4

What a week it has been!

We have had another wonderful week! Year 1 have really settled in now and are making excellent choices and are becoming better listeners and are building their resilience. I must also say, our dancing abilities in PE are going from strength to strength.

With Diwali just around the corner, Year 1 learned about the story behind the festival and then designed their own Rangoli patterned mats. They then used their fine motor skills to craft a Diya lamp using their play dough. Check out some of our creations!

More place value! We have completed work in our books and played maths games this week. We have also started to write in our maths books, focussing on our presentation. We are trying to remember to only keep one digit in each box!

We have also been working hard on our acrostic poems this week too! We planned carefully and used an adjective word bank to learn fantastic, new words! W blew the grownups away. It wouldn't let Miss Hasson upload all of the poems so here is a selection and we will all bring hoe our own poems on Friday.
