12.11.25

This week we have been working hard to create Marvellous Medicines in English. The children have come up with some fabulous ideas to rival Roald Dahl!

Meanwhile in History we are exploring the Stone Age and the Bronze Age - an exciting time for civilisation!

In Year 3, children are encouraged to be confident and independent writers by “having a go” at spelling new words. At this stage, we don’t expect every word to be spelt correctly -what matters most is that children use their phonics knowledge and growing awareness of spelling patterns to make sensible attempts. They are learning to notice and use prefixes, suffixes, and common spelling rules, and to check their work using word banks or dictionaries. Encouraging your child to try their best and not worry about getting every word-perfect helps them become more adventurous and fluent writers.

Spellings will be given on a Thursday to be tested the following Thursday. The ones for 20.11.25 are:

GHome learning

Our homework focus until Christmas will be on maths, particularly times tables and number facts. Regular practice at home really helps children build speed and confidence in their calculations. We’ll send home activities and online suggestions to support this. If you would like additional homework or extra challenges for your child, please let us know and we’ll be happy to provide more.
