Primary School

Every child has brilliance inside them. Our job is to dig it out and give it to the world!

Week 1 Home Learning - 6.9.24

Welcome to week 1 home learning. Please also read the Welcome to Year 2 link on the website page.

Your home learning for this week is:

  1. To read and spell the Phase 2-5 words attached. We will be working on these in class over the coming weeks so that you can confidently use them within your work.

You would have learnt them in Year 1 as well. If you know them all then please write some of them into sentences.

  1. At Wyburns the children are given the opportunity to become an Ambassador and represent their class for different roles. The roles are:

Sports Ambassador – helping with the running of any sports activity at Wyburns including at playtime.

Eco Ambassador – helping to make the school an Eco friendly place in many ways, if you are keen to help the environment then this ones is for you.

School Council – to help with the running of the school and to discuss how things could be changed and improved. This role includes a wide range of activities.

2 children will be elected from each class and will need to commit to attend a regular meeting at lunchtime. If you think this is you and you would like to be considered for the role, then you need to write a short speech to explain why you would be good at it. We will then present these in class next week on Wednesday and Thursday.

Junk and Magazines Needed

As part of our Science and Art topic we need your help. Please could you send in any small junk (not toilet rolls please), no bigger than a cereal box, kitchen roll tubes, clean plastic salad pots and anything that would be suitable for the children to make a model with (PLEASE ENSURE NOTHING CONTAINS NUTS).

We are also in need of any old magazines which we can cut up. We’re need pictures of eyes, noses, mouths, flowers, fruit, food and children’s cartoons or characters for our art work portraits. Please send these into class with your child over the coming weeks.

Many thanks for your help and support!
