Wow another week has flown by! This week Year 2 have been busy learning about these areas:
Maths - odd and even numbers, how to double, half and partition numbers into equal groups. They have worked using cubes to ensure they can check their calculations.
English - we have focussed on Oliver Twist, we've enjoyed watching short clips of the film to help us describe the character and how he feels as well as describing the setting. We also used contractions in sentences and matched them together e.g. can not becomes can't.
Science has been our main focus this week, where the children have enjoyed learning about life cycles.
We have looked at and ordered the human and animal life cycles as well as matched animals to their young. We then compared how they are different when young and when an adult. We had some great ideas including the sounds that they make and how they look. The children thoroughly enjoyed sharing their knowledge about animals!
Well done Class 2!
