This week in Maple Class, our creativity has truly come to life! Inspired by the fearsome Grendel, the children have designed their very own monsters, each unique and full of character. Using watercolours, they brought their creatures to life with bold strokes and vivid detail, while carefully crafting their reports in non-chronological formats. The results are almost ready to be transformed into display-worthy masterpieces, and we can’t wait to share the final creations with everyone soon. It’s been fantastic to see their imagination, attention to detail, and storytelling skills come together so beautifully.
In Maths, our focus has been on equivalent fractions, and the class has been absolutely amazing. With so many “fractionators” in the room, the children have been confidently exploring how fractions can be represented in different ways and identifying which fractions are equivalent. This solid understanding will provide a strong foundation for the next steps in their learning, and it’s wonderful to see their enthusiasm and persistence in tackling challenges.
History lessons have taken us on a journey back to 793 CE, when the Lindisfarne raid shocked the Anglo-Saxon world. The children have been exploring the events and significance of this historic moment, understanding the impact of Viking invasions on early England. Our topic will culminate on Monday with the dramatic Battle of Hastings, and the class are eager to see how history unfolds. It’s been an exciting week of learning, creativity, and discovery, and we can’t wait to see what they achieve next!
