Our week in Class 6
Maths
In Maths this week, the children have been multiplying and dividing fractions, as well as using previously learned skills - such as BIDMAS - to solve problems including fractions.
English
In English, we have been writing our own survival guide explanation texts for Camp Green Lake. The children have really been enjoying our class novel "Holes" by Louis Sacher, so we had lots of creative ideas for how to survive a visit to this questionable camp for troubled youths!
Foundations
In our PE crossed with Science lesson, the children created gymnastic routines for the journey of water and nutrients through the human digestive system. We had some very pioneering ideas, such as tuck-jumps for the teeth chewing the food and cartwheels and round-offs for the movement of the stomach! In RE, we have finished our unit on the five pillars of Islam and have begun our discussions on the teachings of Jesus in Christianity. In Art, we have been creating our contributions for the Christmas tree at the church, which are little woollen bauble hats (the children may have brought extra ones home!)
