Every child has brilliance inside them. Our job is to dig it out and give it to the world!

Week 1 - 22 April

Welcome back everyone!

Class 2 have been working very hard this week and it has been lovely to see some sunshine too. The summer term is full of exciting events, we can’t wait.

This week we have been working on the following areas:

Maths – solving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems. We have read problems, worked out how to solve them then checked our answers. We have also worked on our 4 and 6 times tables.

English – we’ve begun a new story called Traction Man. The children have had great fun exploring the story, acting it out, making puppets for it, retelling it and looking closely at the vocabulary used.

Science – we have focussed on what plants are, where they grow and why. We then decided which were plants we could eat and which were not!  We discussed the importance of keeping safe when out and about and never eating plants, unless we know what they are.

We also looked at bees and their importance in our world. After this we labelled the parts of a bee and this was super fun!

In PE we have been working hard on our ball skills to move and dribble accurately. We have also been practicing our balancing and sports day team work skills.

What a busy 4 day week we’ve had! You’ve all been super resilient, well done everyone!
