Week 1 - 8.1.24

Happy New Year Class 2 and what a fantastic first week back we have had!

It has been lovely to see your resilience and determination in all of our learning.

Being back at Wyburns is brilliant and we are all very pleased to be back.

This week we have been learning - 

Maths - We have focussed on shapes looking at their names, vertices, faces and edges as well as learning directions, including right, left, forwards, backwards, 1/4 turn, 1/2 turn, 3/4 turn and a full turn.

English and History have been combined this week as we learn about the Victorian era to find out facts about this time. So far we have learnt about when it was, who the ruler was, where they were or were not educated, jobs that they completed and places that they lived.  These facts have been very interesting and we can't wait to learn more next week.

We have also begun learning our songs for the Music Festival in March, which are all about animals.

This event invites parents/carers to watch the amazing performances by Year 2, we can't wait to share this time with you! More details will follow on this regarding purchasing tickets.
