Primary School

Every child has brilliance inside them. Our job is to dig it out and give it to the world!

Week 3

Class 5 have had a very busy and productive (albeit a little noisy) week. We finished our foray into the Anglo-Saxon era this week and are chomping at the bit to find out about the Vicious Vikings next!

We created some Anglo-Saxon bread, that was actually rather delicious, and created a smashing Saxon double page spread to showcase our knowledge.

In maths we have looked at rounding (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3afU6JQG15I), negative numbers (using a number line for this really helped) and partitioning in our quest to understand Place Value. We will continue to practise reasoning from known facts to enable us to apply what we already know to other calculations.

Our writing has taken us on an exploration this week with more to come. We are creating an adventure story inspired by Amelia Earhart and Alex Honnold. The descriptive devices we are starting to use are fabulous!

Don't forget it is Macmillan coffee morning on Monday if you would like to donate any cakes or send us any recipes/photos etc of your baking skills!
