Every child has brilliance inside them. Our job is to dig it out and give it to the world!

10.3.23

This week in maths, our topic was perimeter. The children learnt that perimeter is the distance around the outside of a two dimensional shape. To find the perimeter of a shape, they have to add up the length of all the sides of the shape. In addition, we worked on finding the perimeter of rectilinear shapes and polygons.

In English, we used the senses to make our setting description more engaging to the reader. What can be heard, what can be seen, what can be smelt and what can be felt. Also, we worked on including personification in our setting description.

In science, we used data and graphs to understand how babies growAlso, we looked at the changes that happen during old age and differentiated between fact and myth about changes in old age. Finally, we used data and graphs to analyse the veracity of the statement "Animals with longer life expectancy have longer gestation periods"

On Wednesday afternoon, we had a lovely yoga session, where we learnt some new yoga poses such as the dance pose.

On Friday afternoon, a few of the children attended a basketball event on Canvey Island.
