Week 2

What a busy week! We have completed our unit on place value and will continue to build on these strong foundations throughout the year. The children will be completing investigations to apply their new found knowledge at the end of the week.

In English this week, we have started to look at the ancient legend of Beowulf -  fierce and brave warrior from the Anglo Saxon times. The children have worked hard on the structure of the writing and the awareness of the reader. I will post some of their incredible descriptions, once they are completed.

We celebrated Roald Dahl Day with a 'Whole Class Read' on the classic - Matilda. We explored vocabulary and inferred using evidence from the text.

Our over arching topic this term is: I will survive and we have started to explore evolution and inheritance. We used the book: Moth to help us with our understanding.

All in all a hugely successful second week back.
