What a wonderful week so far! We have reminded ourselves how to keep safe online as we took part in the Essex Walk online programme yesterday. The children proved they are very knowledgeable and learnt that talking about any issues that arise is key.
Today we took part in our first quiz of the year and came a respectable 3rd. Our Maths knowledge was second to none and we were amazing at History and Geography too! The highlight (along with being third!) was creating a parachute for an egg. The egg was raw and needed to make a safe landing!
In English this week we have worked on Challenging ourselves with our writing. the children are becoming independent when creating their success criteria and can add the challenges they feel will suit them best. We have welcomed back the chilli challenges in both English and Maths and the children have pushed their capabilities to the limits! This improved speed and accuracy has deepened our understanding :)
Our exciting history topic has been fabulous and we have learnt so much about the incredible people that lived during the Shang Dynasty. They believed in asking the Gods questions and used to burn the oracle bones to get their answers. Check out our photos of our own oracle bones!
We have talked a lot about preparing for the next stage in our journey and how we need to develop the tools ready to transition in September. We will continue with these discussions as time moves on.
Have a great weekend all and don't forget home learning is due Thursday 27th January
