Diwali

Diwali Celebrations!

This week we have been thinking about how Hindus celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights. We have made our own Diwali lamps and listened to the story of Rama and Sita. We made our own shadow puppets, created Rangoli patterns and designed Mehndi patterns for our hands. The children enjoyed singing and dancing to our special Diwali song. A fantastic week of learning!

We are getting on really well with our phonics too! Hopefully the children are starting to recognise and sound out the words in their reading books and are practising the letters in their pencil cases.
