Primary School

Every child has brilliance inside them. Our job is to dig it out and give it to the world!

Autumn 2 - Week 6

The big day is getting closer!

As Christmas approaches, we have been working very hard on practising for our Christmas play! We have now performed to the whole school and had our first performance to our grownups. We are sure everyone agrees, we are rocking it!

This hasn’t stopped the learning in class though and we are still flying!

We have now finished our recounts of our Paddington Teddy Bear’s Picnic and they are absolutely brilliant! Not only did we write about what happened, but we wrote about how we felt and our favourite parts. Some of us even wrote about how we would make the picnic even better next time.

In our maths, we have been looking at addition and subtraction. We can now subtract in many different ways including on a number line. You can see us doing this on big number lines on the playground here.

At the end of the week, we applied our skills in a competitive game of Addition and Subtraction Snakes and Ladders. It was tense and fun all at once! Here are some snaps…

In Geography, we are looking at our locality. We discussed how we normally travel to school and how this largely depends on how close we live to our school. We created a human bar graph of the results.

Here’s a key to help you understand the results…

W – Walk

D – Drive

P+S – Park and stride

S – Scoot

We cannot wait for a fun packed week next week!
