Every child has brilliance inside them. Our job is to dig it out and give it to the world!

Week 2 - 24-28th April

Year 2 have enjoyed exploring the allotment this week where we had a delivery of plants from a local garden centre. They learnt about what has been plants, what will be being planted soon and how to stop slugs from eating the plants using a special contraption.
In Maths they have continued to learn about fractions where they found 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4 of amounts and shapes. We have also worked hard on our 3 and 4 times tables, where we wrote them on the playground, chanted and sung them!  In English the children wrote an adventure story, created their own super character, as well as working hard on their spellings, punctuation and grammar. In Computing and Music we listened to space music about planets, compared it and discussed what we did and did not like. We look forward to making music on the computers very soon. The children are very excited for their trip to Hyde Hall next week, let’s hope the sun shines for us! Enjoy the long weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week.
