Year 2 have continued their work on measure in Maths this week using cylinders, jugs and trays to explore the difference between ml and litres. We also solved problems with these measures and had great fun too! In English we have been focussing on the story The Day the Crayons Quit. The children have made their own crayons, acted out the story and worked on how it feels to be a disappointed/happy crayon.
In Geography we have been locating places on maps and globes, exploring where places are, why this is and how they look. Our flowers/plants have begun to sprout too, wow! We can't to see them grow even more next week.
Home Learning for this week is:
1. Spellings for this week are attached.
Challenge:
Put them into sentences using conjunctions - and, but, so, if, because etc.
2. This week we have been reading the story - The Day the Crayons Quit. Now it is your turn to design your own crayon which could be added to the story. Draw it, decorate it and bring it in to class. It can be any colour, even multicoloured and any design.
Extra challenge - Write a fact file about your crayon - what is their personality, how do they act and how are they used by the boy in the story Duncan.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Clark
